Samson MBA38 Boom Arm is the premium microphone boom arm that has very high-end specifications. It does have almost everything one level above the other microphone in the list.
By the name itself, you must have got some idea. It does have the 38 inches of arms-length, which is sufficient for anyone. You can use that flexibly around your desk.

Rode PSA1 Boom Arm is the best pick for you if you are looking for the mic which fits most of the conditions. If Samson MBA38 looks bit pricey to you then you can get this one as well. This microphone is valued a lot and got nice feedback from the customers as well.
PSA1 has the arm length of 33 inches which is long in terms of normal boom arms. It will help your reach and position quite a nice distance.
PSA1 can easily handle the weight up to 4.4 lbs without any noise or external pressure. You get two desk mounting options with this boom arm.

Samson MBA38 vs Rode PSA1
As you have gone through the both of the boom arms, you have seen that both of them are the premium quality boom arms and both of them are worth giving a shot.
Now we will compare both the boom arms based on different sections to each other such as design, features, pricing, etc.
In terms of the design, which is the first impression of every boom arm, both of the boom arms are best. Both of them do have a classical yet attractive design. Although Samson MBA38 boom arms look more shining and glittery than the Rode PSA1 boom arm. That’s why I would like to vote for Samson MBA38 in terms of design.
In terms of the features, there are not many features as in the boom arm. But there are flexibility, length, and rotation, etc. Rode PSA1 does have 360 degrees of rotation with a maximum reach of 32.5 inches horizontally and 33 inches vertically. Samson MBA38 is also super flexible with 38 inches of reach (you can even get the 48 inches of reach with the other variant).
Samson MBA38 does also have the spring in it which makes it easy and effortless to adjust and transport. That’s why I would like to vote for Samson MBA38 again in terms of flexibility and adjustment.
In terms of pricing, there are no many things to see. You can choose the lower variants of Samson MBA to lower the pricing but that won’t play the game as we are comparing the 38 inches variant here. So, Rode PSA1 is the clear winner in terms of pricing of the boom arms.
Now if you take it as the overall winner then it is really tough. That’s why I don’t have the final answer for this. I will leave it to you only. If compared overall boom arms, then both the boom arms best for you.

There is nothing win or loose in choosing any of the above boom arms.
You can only go with the Rode PSA1 if you want the better boom arm with a bit lower pricing or you can even go with the Samson MBA38 if you don’t have any issues with the budget.

Both of the boom arms are best in terms of quality and performance. You can choose anyone who takes your attention.
The final conclusion is, if you are tight with the budget then you can go with the Rode PSA1, or else you can choose the Samson MBA38.
